My Philosophy

Change the thought - change the feeling - change the behaviour...

The BEST way to predict the future is to INVENT IT - right now!

Say to yourself each day: 'What will be is up to me'.

Each day tell yourself: 'I'll worry Tomorrow'.

Beliefs can either empower you or limit you - which one would you prefer?

We cannot control everything that happens to us in life - but we CAN control how we choose to deal with it...

The following two quotations express for me what Counselling and Life are all about:

"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us is something valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves,we can risk curiosity, wonder, delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit."

e.e.cummings.

We need to accept that in life everything passes...
We have to let go of the old, before we can accept the new.
This pain we call 'sadness'...
If we cannot let go of what has provided meaning and purpose in our lives in the past...and endure the confusion of losing our bearings until we rebuild our world...we resist, stiffen, stifle our feelings and block this process of readjustment. Then we no longer feel sadness but depression...
The fullest living is in a constant dying of the past... enjoying the present moment fully but holding it lightly, letting go without clinging and moving freely into new experiences...

'Through Grief' Elizabeth Collick

Remember - Why not choose to focus your thoughts on the things you do have - rather than the things you do NOT have? Give it a try!

Why not focus on developing a new positive habit - rather than focusing on 'trying' to give up an old negative habit? You will probably find that the old negative habit will be quickly forgotten anyway!
