About Me

I am an accredited member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)

I first qualified as a Person-Centred Humanistic Counsellor in July 1995.

I have four years experience a Bereavement Counsellor and have worked for a GP practice in London for 2 years, where I also ran a group on Stress Awareness as part of a Health Improvement Programme.

In 2004 I qualified as an NLP Master Practitioner. NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is a powerful tool which offers ways of understanding how we human beings think, behave and can make changes.

In my private practice in Dorking, Surrey I see clients referred to me by an employee assistance programme. These clients come mainly with work/life balance and stress issues.

I worked at a Cancer Help Centre one day per week from 2005 to 2009. I also facilitated Cancer Support groups at the Centre. I specialised in working with Breast Cancer patients at the Centre and I currently facilitate Telephone Support groups for Breast Cancer patients.

I gained a Certificate in Couples counselling in 2009. In my experience, we can learn so much about ourselves from being in a relationship. We enter into our intimate relationships with expectations we are not conscious of. We may project qualities onto our partner which are actually disowned/denied parts of ourselves. If we are prepared to look at ourselves and the part we are playing in our relationship problems, there is a chance we can learn, grow and develop as individuals and as a couple. I believe that our intimate relationships offer us the opportunity for personal growth on every level.

My approach to Counselling is Holistic, drawing on all my various training and experience, healing Mind, Body and Spirit.
